2013 Cedar Hill Crit was a tremendous success. The race team worked tirelessly to promote a safe and competitive event for everyone. We were stoked by the turnout and the buzz that followed the races was sweet & lasted for quite some time. So, as we're planning for 2014, our little band of beer drinking race gnomes wondered how did the Cedar Hill Crit stack-up against other Tennessee races in 2013? So we looked it up: http://www.tbra.org/stats.php Wowzers! Awestruck & humbled; that this many cool people came to our race and that we did this among the likes of these high caliber events. TBRA (TN Bicycle Racing Assoc.) definitely has a racing calendar loaded with some stout races. #HUMBLED #RESPECT
So then we thought, How did The Cedar Hill Crit stack-up against some of the larger criteriums in the SouthEast? Hmmm, that's a good question so we looked that up too. Researching some of the historically bigger crits, here are the results from 2013: 2013 NCC Crits Sunny King- 510 Athens Twilight-593 Cigar City Brewing Crit (Tampa, FL)- 367 2013 Large Regional Events Grant Park, ATL (2012)- 325 SRS French Broad Crit- 342 Cedar Hill Crit -342 #WHOA Where do we go from here? How's this for starters: Historic double-race weekend on Sat. March 29th-Sunday March 30th Nashville, TN
#DBL-WHOA For 2014 we're committed to having the same fun and safe festive atmosphere, great food and drink, music and unicorn so you can race your buddies and talk junk in the parking lot. That's how we roll. See you on Sunday, March 30th MLP

At our annual Treehouse Racing's Keep Calm Race Cross, we had a special guest, Nashville's exciting new local brewery, Black Abbey Brewing, was on-site doing beer hand-ups w/their tasty malt & barley refreshments. It was a blast and looking back we can have a little chuckle, especially when you consider the story: (planning discussion with @BlackAbbeyJohn) Me: So how many beers are in a sixtel? BAJ: like 5 gallons; how many you need? Me: Ummm, since it's free to the crossers, 5 maybe? BAJ: HAHAHAHAHA….right. Me: Seriously. BAJ. Tell you what, we'll save you some moolah. We sell you 3 sixtels {smiling} I'll throw an extra in the truck in the slimmest chance you run out. Me: {concerned look on face}…umm, okay. (1/2 way into race day, beer Gods are making it rain...me and BAJ) Me: How we doing?….Where you going?! ...(BAJ walking towards parking lot) BAJ: Be right back! I forgot the 4th sixtel… True to his word, @BlackAbbeyJohn tossed in another 6tel to keep our animals hydrated! Trouble is, he forgot to put the extra 6tel in his truck! BAJ made the short trip to Black Abbey and was back before @SRagle could get his fupa across the finish line. How awesome of a sponsor is THAT! All this to say, ya'll can drank some free beeah! When you're not racing, go check out the tasting room at Black Abbey Brewing and buy us a pint! Black Abbey Brewing Company2952 Sidco Drive, Nashville, TN 37204 Thursday and Friday: 3:30pm til 8pm. It was not to hard, but there were some hills where I had to go to the easiest gear! Otherwise, it was great.
The best part was right after the first hill, because there is this huge downhill with plenty of flat to recover on. It was like flying! The worst part was when I almost rolled down the last hill backwards!
Thank you for letting me practice with you and letting me ride in the pace car! your friend, Eleanor Israel 5 Questions with Cedar Hill's P123 Winner, Matt Russell What'd you think about the course at Cedar Hill park? I thought the park was awesome. I loved that we had the entire road to ourselves. Awesome venue, and great course. Definitely harder then I expected it to be. Best moment - Worst moment in your race? Best moment in my race was Winning the $100 preem and then winning the race. Worst moment was it hurt a lot Who'd you enjoy watching/rooting for when you were drilling-it?Mr. Tony Adair and my Dad were the best. Every lap they were cheering for me. After the race, did you eat/drink? What'd you have? Did you like the vendors that were there? After the race I ate 2 power bars, and drank a recovery drink. Yes I loved the vendors. I wish more races would have that. What will you remember about this race 12 months from now? How fun it was. For the first year of having this race, you guys did a awesome job of putting it on. Loved the location and the setting. Also loved that you had 2 wheel pits, and a mechanic on hand. Very helpful. Thanks again for all the hard work you put into this race! I loved it,and you guys did a very good job. 1 of the best put on races I have ever done in TN! Hope this was helpful! thanks, Matt. …I guess so, with a power profile like that; Hub's Alan Dawkins reports on his '13 Cedar Hill Crit.
